Boston residents face challenges in managing their healthcare needs efficiently due to fragmented services and limited access to digital health resources. There is a growing demand for a comprehensive mobile application that provides convenient access to healthcare services, promotes preventive care, and enhances the overall well-being of the community.
TASK
Design a user-friendly mobile application to serve as a digital health assistant for residents of Boston. The application should offer features such as appointment scheduling, medication reminders, telemedicine consultations, and access to personalized health resources. Emphasize intuitive interface design, seamless navigation, and accessibility to accommodate users of all ages and technical proficiencies.
ACTION: RESEARCH & PROCESS
I began with comprehensive user research to understand the specific needs and pain points of each user segment, including busy schedules, accessibility issues, and concerns about reliable information. Doing so would define the vocabulary of the design - who are we talking to directly? Who will be interacting with my product the most? What can I do to appeal to them in the most successful and most informational way?

I conducted research primarily through the National Center for Health Statistics, finding important information that I would use to build the personas and understand the user.

A chronic condition was listed as the major reason for 39% of all office-based physician visits, followed by a new problem (24%), preventive care (23%), pre- or postsurgery care (8%), and an injury (6%).

RESULTS
The final product was a well-received mobile application that has empowered users to take control of their healthcare journey with increased confidence and ease. The app's intuitive design and personalized features led to high user engagement, with positive feedback highlighting the convenience and comprehensive healthcare support provided.

My objective was to create an intuitive, user-friendly app that supports users of all technical levels and provides essential features such as appointment scheduling, medication reminders, telemedicine consultations, and tailored health resources. The app needed to ensure both ease of use and accessibility to accommodate the diverse needs of its target audience.

I was responsible for designing the entire visual direction of the package, ensuring it aligned with popular NASA fashion trends and the 2024 Toy Association design trends. The packaging needed to be visually stunning, informative, and appealing to a broad audience.
